So long, Facebook

An announcement was made last week that introduced a change to the way we will live our lives. Metaplace is coming…

The site looks kinda hokey, but that’s ‘cos it’s aimed at its initial target market – cheesy gamers. Eventually though, it will affect each and every one of us, for Metaplace could be just the kick in the arse that Virtual Reality has been waiting for.

Curry 101

I have never been a particularly great cook and don’t profess to be one now, but on passing the milestone recently that is turning 30, I have reflected on the fact that one good thing about getting older is that I seem to be getting a heck of a lot better in the kitchen.
One culinary aspect that’s been receiving more of my attention of late is the art of making curry. I’ve always been a fan of a good curry, but my attempts at rustling up one from scratch a few years ago had always been disappointing and I found myself instead relying on the trusty jar of Pataks instead of making my own.

Huzzah for the Delocator!

DelocatorI’m disappointed to admit that since my vitriolic splutterings about Starbucks a few months back, I’ve done nothing to hasten the downfall of the filthy, brazen hound. Short, that is, of the odd lazy, evil eye when I amble past it’s unnaturally gleaming windows on the high street. Must try harder. Some people are doing their bit though, like the helpful folk at Delocator.

Believe it or Not

Where documentaries such as Undercover Mosque are concerned that is a damned good thing.  There is enough fear between Muslims and non-Muslims in the UK already without adding to that with shoddy reporting.  I’m certainly not inferring there was shoddiness in this case – we’ll have to wait and see what the result of the Ofcom investigation says – but if it was there it will be important to root it out.

Saturday Lions

A couple of clips that might change the way you think of lions… The first is one of the most popular YouTube videos of all time, with over 11 million view so far. It’s a damned intense watch – make sure you follow it to the end. The second is a wicked reunion shot of a lion and the guys that reared him as a cub. Check out the wild lion that tags along and his reaction to the humans…
