Howard Zinn on American Empire

Zinn died a week ago and in a recent interview said he’d like to be remembered for “getting more people to realize that the power which rests so far in the hands of people with wealth and guns, that the power ultimately rests in people themselves and that they can use it.”

Hot Kakapo Action

Last week I paid twenty bucks for seven minutes with Sirocco the Kakapo as part of New Zealand Conservation Week at the Auckland Zoo. Not sure how much Stephen Fry’s photographer paid, but I certainly didn’t get as intimate as this. Lucky bastard…
